Requirements for Automobile Driver Testing, 18 yrs and older:

  1. Valid Temporary Instruction Permit (TIP). Must have at least 30 days of practice from permit issue date, unless permit states "Waive 30 days" and is stamped by the Michigan Secretary of State (SOS) or a 1 waiver receipt.
  2. Valid proof of insurance for testing vehicle.
  3. Valid vehicle registration for testing vehicle.
  4. Testing vehicle in good working order (turn signals, 3 brake lights, glass, horn, wipers, seat belts, etc.).
  5. Study Road Test Guide.

Requirements for Automobile Driver Testing, UNDER 18 yrs and old:

  1. Level 1 Instruction Learner's Permit from Michigan Secretary of State for 180 days.4
  2. Driving log with 50 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night.
  3. Segment 2 card (white card from completed segment 2 class).
  4. Valid proof of insurance for testing vehicle.
  5. Valid vehicle registration for testing vehicle.
  6. Testing vehicle in good working order (turn signals, 3 brake lights, glass, horn, wipers, seat belts, etc.).
  7. Study Road Test Guide.
